Weddings and Cheeseburgers

Today, I bring you a ridiculously awesome wedding.  Mike and Jessica were married in San Diego earlier this year, and the whole concept was so cool that I had to share it!

Melissa McClure submitted the wedding, and as always, the images she captured are full of emotion, beauty, and zest.  Melissa says that her favorite part of this wedding was the whole wedding taking the trolley to In N Out.  Yes, In N Out… at a wedding.  Do you love it or what?  So unique and so delicious.  Not every wedding has to have “wedding food.”  You can choose something that you love to eat together, something that represents the city you are getting married in, something that represents your respective hometowns, or even a mish mash of all of this.

I also spoke with the wedding planner from this wedding, Brenda Swann, with Swann Soirees.  Brenda left feeling  fulfilled, and simply thrilled that she was able to help give this couple exactly what they wanted- a small, intimate San Diego wedding with some quirky elements that perfectly defined the couple.  She never told the bride that she couldn’t or shouldn’t do something, and it resulted in the fun day you see below.  So many times, a wedding vendor, friend, or family member will tell you what they think you should do, or impose traditions on your day.

Something I loved to hear was that the whole day was a surprise to the guests.  They knew they were attending a wedding, and knew where to meet, but were greeted with the “sand under your toes” ceremony, the trolley, and the ride to the famous Southern Cali burger joint.  Check out the photos, I feel like this couple just radiates happiness!
