This is probably my favorite engagement session that I’ve seen- cute, sweet, loving, and true to the couple. I love the mix of dress clothes and casual clothes, it’s just perfect. Thank you to Simply D Photography for this beautiful session that so perfectly fits this blog’s focus!

The first thing that struck me about this wedding was the beauty of the church, I think it might rival the most beautiful chapel I’ve ever seen! And then came the couple- fun, up-for-anything, and totally in love. Their photographer, Truelove Photography, put it best,
“As soon as Suzanne walked in and saw the beautiful architecture and sunny windows of the Marty Leonard Chapel, she was in love (for the second time, anyway). She knew that she would be there for the most special day of their lives together. Suzanne & Orlando’s colors were pink & green, and there were sprinkles of her Irish heritage throughout. But dont think this couple is all traditional – far from it! (But we knew what we were getting into from both her bridal and their engagement sessions).
Suzanne isn’t the typical bride! For her bridal portrait session, we all warmed up with some classically beautiful and traditional pictures – then she wanted to break the mold a bit. Here is this girl, donning the most expensive dress she will ever wear, running all over downtown Fort Worth in a pair of heels and crawling into and on any place she can find. The more unusual, the better the challenge. We went to a bar, borrowed a hotel balcony, and stuck her in a window. Tim wanted to get a shot of her eating some ice cream, but we all ran out of time. She promised him this shot at the wedding instead =) Even their engagement session was unusual. They were riding up and down on escalators inside a movie theatre and out on a really tall balcony (even though Orlando doesn’t like heights). Talk about troopers!!! They were up for anything. During their reception, Suzanne and Orlando were whisked away by us to get a lot of really fun shots. Just check out some of these sneak peeks to see just how much fun these two have together!”
Congrats Suzanne and Orlando!

All the personal touches that were displayed at this next wedding were fun, authentic, and inspiring. The couple didn’t worry too much about having every detail “perfect”, and they certainly didn’t make it look just like every other wedding! They just infused their real, true self into everything. From the cake to the guestbook, it was all about their relationship and love story.
Their photographer, Catherine Guidry, from Catherine Guidry Photography, tells me, “Laura’s wedding style was inspired by her love for Anthropologie, as well as organic, creative, and natural objects. She tried to keep things simple. She loves the fall, but didn’t want typical fall colors. The favors were feathered masks which and everyone wore them during the “second line” at the reception. Their color palette was inspired by their weimaraner and their favorite purchase was their sign-in book. It was a William Wegman book, “Dogs on Rocks.” Wegman is a photographer that takes pictures of weimaraners in interesting ways and places. Laura describes her wedding as natural, classic, and personal.”

Gotta give a shout out to Cinco de Drinko (Cinco de Mayo, for those of you paying attention). I will be busy working a wedding this Cinco de Mayo, so I decided to share this with you today. My clients have decided to infuse their day with a nod to the fun holiday by adding some Mexican tray-passed appetizers, a signature grapefruit margarita, a pinata, papel picado flags, and more. It will be an “Ole” to remember. Originally, the clients didn’t set out wanting a “Cinco de Mayo wedding”, per se, but it happened to be one of the only dates that worked in their preferred month of May. From that point, we developed the fun details that will help the guests have a great time celebrating the holiday. Sometimes, your “theme” will just come to you!
This submission was the perfect wedding inspiration for the holiday- lots of color, fun flavors, and of course, tequila… to-kill-ya. Props to 410 Studio Photography for the gorgeous photos!
Enjoy!
